NASBE joined eight other health and education organizations, led by the American Lung Association, to issue a joint statement on improving asthma management in schools.

NASBE has long supported the need for clean air in schools in the belief that students cannot succeed in school if they are continually absent due to illness. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, asthma alone accounts for 13 million missed school days every year.
