Over the next several months, states will be making major decisions about their state assessment system. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) gives states important flexibility in how and when to assess students, and which types of tests to use. In 31 states, state boards of education have the sole authority to make these calls. In more than half of all states, the state board is a key player.

Join NASBE on August 2, 2016, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm (EDT) as we continue our series of webinars on assessments with the College Board’s Stefanie Sanford. She’ll discuss what opportunities exist under ESSA to build a college-going and career ready culture in schools by using AP in accountability systems and why some states have decided to make the new SAT their state test.  We’ll also hear about the College Board’s new partnership with Khan Academy and how they are leveling the playing field with www.satpractice.org.
