NASBE regrets to inform you of the passing of Northeast Area Director and New Jersey State Board of Education Vice President Ilan Plawker after a long illness. Ilan’s energy and enthusiasm during his service on the board will be missed.
“Ilan was a loyal and devoted State Board Member and NASBE Board Member to the very end of his life,” said NASBE President Patrick Guida. “He was engaged in educational issues at the local, state, and national level throughout his adult life and I was not surprised when Ilan called me last month to express his views on several recent education developments from his hospital bed.”
NASBE extends its sympathies to Ilan’s family, friends, and colleagues.
