Taylor Elected to Board of National Association

Arlington, VA —Allan Taylor, a member of the Connecticut State Board of Education since 1994, was elected as Northeast Area Director of the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE) this month at the association’s Annual Conference in Denver.

Mr. Taylor has chaired the Connecticut board since 2005, and he serves as Chair of the Finance, Audit and Department Matters Committee. He has held many leadership positions in NASBE, including as its president in 2011, its president-elect in 2010, and as Northeast Area Director in 2008-09. Mr. Taylor also chaired NASBE’s student engagement study group and was a member of the deeper learning study group. After 37 years in the private practice of law, he recently “retired” to become the legislative and legal advisor to the Hartford City Council. Mr. Taylor earned an A.B. from Harvard College; an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University; and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
